# World Structure

### World Structure

Olympus separates the world into settled space and frontier space.

#### The Overworld

The Overworld is the primary settlement realm. It currently has an intentionally small **2,000-block diameter border**. This is to ensure that the initial settlements are close and built out before expanding.

This is where players are expected to build long-term homes, towns, bases, shops, roads, railways, ports, farms, and infrastructure.

Claims are focused in the Overworld so players have a protected place for permanent builds.

#### The Nether

The Nether is expanded and more dangerous than vanilla Minecraft. It is used for travel, resources, combat, and infrastructure. It has a worldborder of 500 blocks (for now)

#### The End

The End is expanded into a larger exploration-focused dimension. It is not just a place to defeat the dragon and leave. No practical world border.

#### Frontier Dimensions

Olympus includes additional adventure and exploration dimensions such as the Aether, the Bumblezone, and the Undergarden.

These dimensions are treated more like frontier realms. They are places for exploration, resources, danger, discovery, and progression.

Frontier dimensions have no practical world border.

Frontier dimensions may be handled differently from the main settled realm as the server develops.
